Home Director is the easy way to automate lights and appliances using your PC and home's existing wiring. Home Director gives you total control, security and convenience whether you're home or half-way around the world.
Home Director uses your existing AC power wiring to control lights and appliances by transmitting encoded signals to modules located around the house. These modules are addressed via two code wheels found on the face of the modules.
The Home Director software uses the addresses to send the appropriate signals (ON, OFF, or DIM, for example) to the lights or appliances you want to control. The PC Connection Module stores all of the schedules and routines you have created on the Home Director software. The PC Interface Module connects your PC (through a cable that attaches to the serial port) to the house wiring.
The Remote Module accepts RF (wireless) signals from the Hand Held Remote (and other X10 controllers) to control devices in your house without wires of any sort!
The Six-in-One Handheld Remote controls both IR (InfraRed) TV, VCR, Stereo and other components as well as the X10 modules via the RF Remote Module.
You simply plug it into the outlet near your PC.

There are SO many reasons to automate your home using Home Director. If the idea of having a "futuristic home" isn't enough for you, take a look at these suggestions:
You Travel a Lot
Use Home Director to schedule "routines" that control lights and appliances in various patterns when you're away from home - giving it that "lived-in" look. Our Lifestyle Feature can even memorize and recreate the way you use lights and appliances.
You Have a Second Home
Use Home Director routines for added security at your vacation home and let the lights greet you on a late-night arrival.
You Have Young Children
Use Home Director as your child's Nite-Lite. Dim bedroom lights with the touch of a button, and give your children extra comfort and security at bedtime.
You Want to Save Energy
Stop wasting energy. Use Home Director to turn out those frequently "left-on" lights and appliances at a specified time every night.
You Live Alone
Never come home to a dark house again. Home Director's Dawn and Dusk Feature automatically activates lights at sunset and turns them off at sunrise. And the optional keychain remote can turn on lights and appliances from your car as you pull into your driveway.
You Have Trouble Getting Around
Use Home Director's revolutionary control options to control up to 256 lights, appliances, and other devices at the push of a button from anywhere in your home.
Building an addition on to your home? Finishing your basement? Home Director expands easily. Just add on modules to control new lights and appliances as necessary.
Use Home Director and stop worrying about the little things. Focus on getting to work by nine and getting the kids to school - let Home Director remember to shut off the lights upstairs and in the garage.
Bed time doesn't have to be a major procedure anymore. Shut off all the lights with the touch of a button from your bed with the Home Director Mini Controller.
You're the Host
Be a good host even when you're away from home. Use Home Director to activate any lights or appliances you'd like to have greet your guests - from old friends to realtors showing your home.
